What's New?
The new convertible Swaddle Sack now has snaps at the armhole, allowing parents to have the option to swaddle with arms in to help soothe baby. As baby grows and begins to roll over, these can be used with arms out as a more traditional sleep sack.
How does this help with newborns sleep?
Swaddling with a newborn's arms snug against their body helps to minimize the Moro Reflex. The Moro Reflex, more commonly known as the startle reflex, is present in babies from birth till about 3-4 months. This reflex is completely normal and is a sign that their nervous system is working. The down side for parent's is this reflex can cause newborns to wake more frequently. Swaddling and keeping baby's arm hugged close to their body helps to reduce this reflex, allowing them to sleep longer stretches at a time.
What's the Same?
The new Convertible swaddle sack is crafted with our premium Bamboo Rayon fabric sandwiched over quilted cotton batting, giving these a 1.0 TOG rating – same as our original swaddle sack! Both feature 2-way zipper allows for easy dressing and quick diaper changes. Baby's little neck is protected with a chin guard to cover the zipper pull when done up.
