Most parents don't go looking for a sleep consultant until they're well past the point of coping. That's roughly where Adela was, too, before she became one. Raised in Vancouver and a mother to three, she went into parenthood assuming a sleep training book would be enough. Her first baby took to it beautifully. Her second did not. It was a pediatric sleep consultant who got her family through it, using methods that were gentle, easy to follow, and quick to show results, and that experience is what redirected her career. |

Today she runs Sleepy Baby Coach as a certified pediatric sleep consultant, working with families across Greater Vancouver and Calgary, and virtually with parents almost anywhere. Her approach is deliberately holistic: feeding habits, daily routine, and your child's temperament all get looked at.
When she told us she recommends Belan.J to the families she works with, we asked if we could share why.
Where sleepwear actually fits into sleepA Sleep Sack is the last thing that touches your baby before the room goes dark, and if it's itchy, tight, or too warm, it can quietly undo a lot of good work at 4:45 in the morning. That's the lens Adela applies to it: "Belan.J Sleep Sacks allow you to not worry about hip development because they're made with all this extra fabric. The bamboo material also helps maintain their body temperature to prevent those early mornings." - Adela, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Sleepy Baby Coach |

1. Room for Healthy Hip Development
Babies sleep with their legs bent up and out, the frog position. A sleep sack that is not spacious at the bottom fights that. Our UltraWide™ bottom is deliberately generous through the hips and legs so that nothing presses inward, which is the position pediatric guidance consistently points to for healthy hip development.
It also means fewer wake-ups from a baby who can't get comfortable, and a sack that still fits properly a few months later.
2. Temperature that holds through the night
A baby who gets cold, or who overheats and kicks free, is a baby who wakes up for the day at 5AM. Bamboo material is breathable and regulates rather than trapping heat, which is the difference between a stable morning and a very early one. Pair the right TOG with your room temperature and you've removed one of the most common causes of early rising.
3. Gentle on skin that's still figuring itself out
Newborn and infant skin is thin, reactive, and unforgiving of rough seams. Bamboo is soft enough for eczema-prone and sensitive skin, which matters more than it sounds, scratching and fussing at fabric is a wake-up mechanism like any other.
