2.5 TOG Sleepsack

I love the polar bear print, it’s perfect for a 2.5 TOG sleepsack for winter! We love the Belan J sleepsacks for their wide bottom as they are great for hip development and non-restricting movement during sleep. They keep babe nice and warm in cold Canadian winter nights.

Really really beautiful.

It’s the softest, coziest thing. I love knowing she’ll be so comfy and warm as the weather gets colder. The quality is so so beautiful.

Our go to sleep sacks

We absolutely love these sleep sacks. The wider hip area is such a benefit for my boys. Recently picked up the 2.5tog as sometimes the nursery gets a bit cold overnight so I wanted them to be nice and toasty. They're so soft and fluffy and I recommend Belan.j to everyone!

Why Bamboo?

  • Hypoallergenic: Gentle on babies' sensitive skin, reduces the risk of irritation and rashes.
  • Breathable and Thermo-regulating: Keeps babies cool in hot weather and cozy during colder days.
  • Moisture-Wicking: Helps keep babies dry and prevent discomfort.
  • Anti-Bacterial and Anti-Fungal: Naturally repels odor-causing bacteria, keeping babies fresh and clean.
  • Eco-Friendly: Sustainable and renewable, grows rapidly without harmful pesticides or excessive water usage.
  • Free from harsh chemicals: Safe for your baby and the environment.
How do I care for my Bamboo Clothing?

To keep your Bamboo looking and feeling great, we recommend washing with cold water on a delicate cycle, using gentle detergent.  Avoid mixing other fabrics such as towels or denim that could increase abrasion and lead to pilling.  Dry in on low heat or hang to dry in a well ventilated room.

Why is Bamboo a fabric great for kids with eczema and allergies?

Bamboo is like a superhero fabric for kids with eczema/allergies!  It’s naturally hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial so it’s gentle on sensitive skin.  Bamboo is also like nature’s temperature control - it’s fantastic at letting air through, preventing overheating and sweating.  As we know, eczema doesn’t get along with moisture.

What TOG should I get?
  • 0.5 TOG: This is the lightest option suitable for warm summer months or when the room temperature exceeds 24°C (75°F). It provides minimal insulation and is ideal for ensuring your baby doesn't overheat.
  • 1.0 TOG: A versatile option that works well year-round, or for rooms with a stable temperature around 20°C (68°F). It provides a moderate level of warmth and can be paired with appropriate clothing layers.
  • 2.5 TOG: The warmest TOG rating, recommended for standard room temperatures between 16°C and 20°C (61°F-68°F). It offers more warmth and is suitable for colder winter months or cooler nurseries.  This can also be a good option for summer camping trips, when evening temperatures drop.

How can I prevent pilling?

Pilling is a common problem with bamboo clothes, but there are steps you can take to prevent it. Here are some tips to help you keep your bamboo clothes from pilling:

Wash them inside out- Washing your bamboo clothes inside out can help prevent pilling.

Use a gentle detergent- Use a mild detergent that is free of bleach and fabric softeners. This will help preserve the bamboo fibers and keep your clothes soft.

Avoid the dryer- Hang or lay flat to dry, as bamboo fabric can shrink in the dryer. If you must use the dryer, use a low heat setting.

Brush them- Gently brushing your bamboo clothes with a soft-bristled brush can help remove any pilling that has occurred

What is GSM?

Understanding GSM (Grams per Square Meter) is essential for bamboo children's clothing, as a higher GSM offers several advantages:

  1. Durability: Higher GSM means denser fabric, enhancing durability for active kids.
  2. Warmth: Thicker bamboo with higher GSM provides better insulation for comfort in cold weather.
  3. Opacity: Higher GSM fabric offers better coverage and privacy, ideal for diapers or training pants.
  4. Softness: Higher GSM bamboo often feels even softer, adding to children's comfort.
  5. Absorbency: It typically offers superior moisture absorption, essential for baby clothing.
  6. Visual Appearance: Higher GSM fabric appears more substantial and luxurious, ideal for quality and style.

Investing in higher GSM bamboo clothing can provide durability, warmth, comfort, and style for your child.

What should I avoid when washing bamboo clothes?

To maintain the quality of bamboo baby clothes, avoid:

  1. Harsh detergents, use baby-safe ones.
  2. Fabric softeners, as bamboo is naturally soft.
  3. Bleach, which can weaken and discolor the fabric.
  4. Hot water, as it can shrink and damage bamboo.
  5. Overloading the washing machine.
  6. Aggressive washing cycles; use gentle settings.
  7. Long soaking, which weakens fibers.
  8. Excessive sunlight during drying.
  9. Wire hangers, which can stretch the fabric.
  10. Skipping care instructions; follow garment labels for specific care.
